This past Thursday through Saturday, Sounds of South went to Nashville, Tennessee to compete in the World Strides Nashville Heritage Festival. Groups from all over the US competed, and Sounds of South won awards for the best concert choir, best overall choral, and senior Ben Johnson won the prestigious Maestro Award for a vocal solo. Sounds of South member Denis Joseph said his favorite parts of the trip were learning how to line dance and eating “the best dry ribs [he’d] ever had. “
