This school year, South has welcomed two new teachers: Jenna Gredy in the English department and Sandi Warner in the foreign language department.
Gredy, who graduated from Indiana University, is currently teaching English-10. She previously worked at Jackson Creek Middle School teaching eighth graders. She has coached the debate team and helped out with Track and Field. While she began her career teaching middle schoolers, Gredy said “I have always wanted to teach at the high school level.”
Since being transferred to South, Gredy said “So far it’s been great. It was a big school and made me very intimidated, but everyone’s been very welcoming [and] very helpful.”
Sandy Warner, who is teaching American Sign Language, is new to Bloomington and attended Western Governors University online in St Louis, IL. Warner has always had a passion for ASL, she said she has “…always had a curiosity towards, and passion for this beautiful language.”
What brought her here was her husband, who attended South in his youth. She said “I’ve felt right at home. I’ve had a lot of support since the day I walked in the door” about her experience at South.
