Ginger Crinkles

Ginger+Crinkles

Ginger crinkles are full of old fashioned, spicy, sugary goodness. This recipe from Better Homes and Garden’s New Cookbook is a solid, reliable take on a classic cookie.

1/4 tsp Salt

2 tsp Baking Soda

1 tsp Ground Ginger

1 tsp Ground Cinnamon

1/5 tsp Ground Cloves

1 cup Packed Brown Sugar

3/4 cup Shortening

1/4 cup Molasses

1 Egg

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and stir together the first six ingredients in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, combine the rest of the ingredients and beat them together. Add the dry ingredients to the mixture and continue to beat until they’re well combined. Make 1 inch balls from the dough and roll them in granulated sugar. Place them 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for about 10 minutes, then allow the cookies to cool on a clean paper bag. Makes 48+
