The South vs. North Football game is this Friday September 9th at North. The past two years the Panthers have beat the Cougars in regular season as well as the 2021 sectional championship. North is 1-2 so far this season, while South is 2-1.

Junior Lucas Waldon (WR) doesn’t feel any nerves going into Friday. Averaging 12.9 yards per game so far this season, Waldon is a prominent player on South’s offense.

“I see it as any other game, it doesn’t really matter that it’s North,” says Waldon.

Senior Sawyer Bailey (TE) also says “It’s just another game on the schedule for us.”

The stress seems to be low for the Panthers, as they have learned to work more tightly as a team this season.

“Our offense has put in more plays and our defense has better coverages, to cover up [North’s] RB Cody Mikulich and TE Aiden Steinfeldt,” Bailey says.

South Football is ready to take on their cross town rivals under the stadium lights.
