The school board will be meeting on Feb. 23 and are expected to decide on the school start time for next year.

The school board will be voting on many different options. One of the main reasons the start time is changing is because of how early school starts for high schoolers. A goal of the new schedule is to start high school at 8:30 or later.

A few of the options have school beginning around 8-8:30 a.m. and end later in the afternoon. Others would have school begin earlier at 7 a.m.or 7:30 a.m. and end earlier in the afternoon.

Students can view all of the options on MCCSC’s website. Students can also submit their opinion on when the school day should start here.
