Kara Parker, math and physics teacher at South, has recently been selected to be an Armstrong Teacher Educator. The award is designed to honor eight outstanding Indiana teachers who also have the potential to serve as mentors to students at the IU School of Education. Parker was nominated for the award by Mr. Fletcher as well as other South administrators. As a teacher, Parker values students actively engaging with the material and attempting to explain topics themselves before having it explained to them. After winning the award, Parker will be participating in a panel for IU School of Education students and also meeting with the other winners this summer to determine future opportunities.
