It’s the subject of hundreds of high school movies, and a high schooler’s rite of passage: prom.
This year’s prom theme is “A Red Carpet Affair”and is being held in the atrium on April 23 from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.. This is a change from previous years when prom has ended at midnight.
The theme will feature exhibits of various movie sets, the movies will remain surprises until the night of prom, but South’s prom sponsor Beth Smith is confident that students will be amazed.
“Last year’s theme was one of the best in my 25 years as sponsor, so we’re trying to surpass it with this year’s theme, I will say that there’s a good mix of elegant and fun, so girls who are trying to match the theme can all feel good in whatever style they choose,” Smith said.
