Ivy Tech ASAP representative at South

There will be a representative from Ivy Tech’s ASAP program in the counseling office on Oct. 5. Any interested students should consult their counselor on whether or not they are right for the program, and plan to attend the meeting after school.

The ASAP program is an intense 11 month program after which students will receive an associate’s degree, and become prepared to continue on to a four year college to earn a bachelor’s degree. Because the program is accelerated, it requires the commitment of a full time job, with classes taking place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

ASAP provides an environment in which dedicated students can succeed. Each student in the program is assigned to a cohort, a small group of students who will attend all classes together, and receives encouragement and assistance from like minded classmates, and a dedicated ASAP coordinator.

Requirements for the program include: a nomination from a high school guidance counselor, at least a 2.5 GPA and strong attendance record and the agreement of a parent or guardian to provide room and board.
The program is competitive and applications are considered on a first come, first served basis. All interested students should contact their counselors soon.
