There is one classic staple of the high school experience that most South students look forward to each year. It’s the subject of countless teen movies, and for some requires months of planning: prom.
This year’s prom theme is circus/carnival. The official name has not been chosen, but the faculty sponsor of prom, Beth Smith, is convinced that this unique and fun theme is bound to impress students.
“I think I’m most excited about this theme because I’ve never done one like it before; this is my 23rd prom as the sponsor and I want to make each year unique. This is a completely different style and I’m very excited to see how it comes out,” Smith said.
When walking into the iconic dance, students can expect to see a typical boardwalk set up with an outdoor scene in the entryway. The dance floor will be in the style of an elegant circus tent, and as always, there will be plenty of opportunities to take the perfect picture.
“If it looks like I have it imagined, it will be magical,” Smith said.
