Mix It Up at Lunch Day

Mix It Up at Lunch Day is right around the corner. On October 31st, the event will be held during all lunches. There will be a DJ as well as prizes for students who participate.

The goal for Mix It Up at Lunch Day is to mix up the cliques of students who tend to always sit with each other during lunch in schools across the country.

Kirstin Milks, the leader of South’s Mix It Up at Lunch Day, said that the motive is to “make school where more people can feel a part of the community and welcome.” She added that she would like to see “the people who are always in the same exact seat sitting with the same people” to move around and step out of their comfort zones.

At Mix It Up at Lunch Day, students will be encouraged to sit at designated lunch tables with people they usually would not talk to, crossing social boundaries. Students should step out of their comfort zones and connect with new people during lunch.
