Students say IU Engineering Program is too new to consider for college

The IU board of trustees has recently approved plans for a new engineering program. The program, which will be in the School of Informatics and Computing, will begin in the 2016-2017 academic year. Some South students believe the program is too new to be a good choice for college. “I would trust the Purdue engineering program more, because it’s more established,” junior Kelli Michaels said.  One potential draw of the IU program will be its focus on intelligent systems engineering, which as Michaels said, is “developed to suit the world now.”
