Students on the 2018 Winter Olympics

On Friday night, the opening ceremony for the 2018 Winter Olympics was broadcasted on television in the United States, marking the first day of the quadrennial games. People worldwide tune in to watch the Olympic athletes play and South students will also be enjoying the winter games to come.

“The sports I find the most interesting are figure skating, bobsledding and skiing,” junior Afua Dakwa said.

“I don’t usually watch [the games], but I like figure skating or hockey,” sophomore Katrina Bruner said.

However some students don’t stay so updated on the Olympics.

“Oh I didn’t know that was tonight honestly,” said senior Malachi Britton when asked of any plans to watch the opening ceremonies.
