Throughout the month of December, Bloomington is bustling with many events and activities celebrating the joy and cheer of the holiday season. If you’re looking for a good way to get into the holiday spirit, check out these events going on in Bloomington this month:

 

Annual Holiday Art Show, Nov. 24-Dec. 31 – Looking for creative gifts for the special people in your life? Head over to the By Hand Art Gallery in the Fountain Square Mall from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and check out the selection of local arts and crafts.

The Nutcracker, Dec. 1-4 – Check out the acclaimed ballet telling the story of a classic holiday tale at the Musical Art Center at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday in addition to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. You might even see some of your peers in the performance!

 

Bloomington Winter Farmers’ Market, Saturdays until March 31 – Need some fresh ingredients for your favorite holiday meals or want to try some special holiday foods? Look no further than the Bloomington Farmers’ Market located at Harmony School from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

 

Another Round Holiday Concert, Dec. 2 – Go see Indiana University’s sensational, all-male acapella group perform classic holiday tunes at 8 p.m. at the Buskirk Chumley.

 

Chimes of Christmas with Singing Hoosiers, Dec. 2 – If you enjoy musical instruments, go check out this classic Bloomington tradition and get into the holiday spirit at 8 p.m. at the IU Auditorium.

 

Krampus Night, Dec. 2 – Want a frightful way to celebrate the season? Go check out the Krampus Night and Holiday Bazaar from 5-9 p.m. and find out if you’ve been naughty or nice this year.

 

Bloomington Brick + Mortar Holiday Hike, Dec. 7 – Head over to the local shops of Downtown Bloomington from 6-9 p.m. and get all of your holiday shopping tasks done.

 

Cardinal Stage’s Peter Pan, Dec. 15-30 – Experience the magic of the holidays and take your family and friends to see Cardinal’s production of this classic story. Performances are at the Buskirk Chumley.

 

Straight No Chaser, Dec. 15 – The acclaimed acapella group, founded at Indiana University 21 years ago, will be performing holiday classics, as well as original songs, at the IU Auditorium at 8 p.m. This energetic and fun-filled performance is the perfect way to celebrate the joy of the holidays.
