Trump agrees to meet with Kim Jong-un
On Thursday, President Trump announced that he would meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to discuss the country’s nuclear program, raising concern from many Americans.
Trade War
Trump has imposed a high tariff on materials such as aluminum and steel; however, not all countries will have to follow this tariff. In fact, Canada and Mexico are exempt from any levy. This tariff has been met with much opposition, with some experts even warning of trade wars as a result of the new plan.
Italian election
In Italy’s first national election in five years, no party won enough votes to form a government, and the Five Star Movement, a new populist party, received approximately one third of the total votes.
Poisoned Russian former spy found
A former Russian spy and his daughter were found poisoned on a bench in the U.K.
Florida Gun Bill
Florida legislature passed a new bill on Sunday to change the gun control laws within the state, a bill many people who support gun control consider a small victory.
Local Bonus: first Sunday of alcohol sales in Indiana
March 4 was the first day that Indiana grocery and liquor stores were allowed to sell alcohol on Sundays. Hoosiers were very excited by the new prospects.
